At Higgens Media, we understand that hosting needs can change—and while we’re sorry to see you go, we’re here to help make the transition as smooth as possible.
If your new hosting provider doesn’t offer migration assistance, we’re happy to step in and migrate your site for a flat fee of $180.
And if you ever decide to come back, we’ll welcome you with free site migration back to our server for all annual hosting plans.
When leaving Higgens Media’s premium hosting environment, please note the following services will no longer be included:
Included with our hosting: speed tools, form builders, SEO plugins, and more.
Helps ensure emails from your site (like contact form submissions) reliably reach inboxes.
We handle plugin updates with care, always rolling back safely if needed.
Hosting clients receive priority and reduced rates on content updates and support.
Once payment is received, a member of the Higgens Media team will reach out within 1 business day to begin the migration process.
To complete the migration, we’ll request the following:
Login to your domain registrar
So we can point your domain name away from Higgens Media’s servers and to your new host.
Login to your new hosting provider
So we can safely move your site files, database, and email configurations (if applicable).
Please have this information ready or contact your new provider for access.
Migrating to an unfamiliar server environment can take several hours and may require troubleshooting. We also prioritize the stability and safety of your data during transfer. The $180 fee reflects the time and care involved.
We offer free site migration for clients on annual hosting plans. This is a common practice among premium hosting providers and ensures a smooth transition into our fully managed environment.
We’ll let you know immediately if we run into issues with your new server setup. In most cases, we can work with your provider to troubleshoot. If a migration is not possible, we’ll issue a partial refund. The only host we've identified we can't support migrating to is GoDaddy due to server timeout issues on their end.
Most migrations are completed within 2–3 business days after we receive all required logins. Complex sites or uncooperative hosting environments may take longer.
We do everything we can to ensure there is minimal downtime. DNS changes may take a few hours to fully propagate, but we'll coordinate the transition to avoid interruptions.
You’re always welcome back—and if you're on an annual hosting plan, your return migration is completely free.
